Directions & Location Plan

  • Journey by train and public transport

    Via Intercity station Erfurt – direct connections with the ICE from Frankfurt/Main, as well as Dresden and Leipzig, and the IR from Düsseldorf and Kassel – change to regional train towards Saalfeld (approx. 55 minutes to Bad Blankenburg).

    Via Intercitystation Saalfeld –  connecting trains from Kiel, Hamburg, Berlin and Leipzig, as well as Munich and Nuremberg – change to regional train towards Erfurt or Arnstadt (approx. 7 minutes to Bad Blankenburg).

    We are more than happy to collect you from the train station. Please notify us of your arrival time in Bad Blankenburg to make arrangements.

    Alternatively, it takes approx. 15 minutes to walk to the Evangelische Allianzhaus! Walk along the Bahnhofstraße towards the town centre (Stadtmitte), then follow the signage to Ziegenheimer Weg. Once there, walk up the stairs towards the left, then turn left into the Untere Esplanade. At the end on the right you will see the Evangelische Allianzhaus. Directly in front of the garages you will see a set of stairs on the right hand side. Now take the elevator in our modern building to reach the reception.

    ATTENTION: The Evangelische Allianzhaus is located in Bad Blankenburg in Thuringia (Thüringen)! Not to be confused with Blankenburg in the Harz Mountains.

  • Helpful hint: When using a navigational device, indicate “Esplanade 10” as your destination. You will arrive directly at the reception/parking lot. If you indicate “Esplanade 5” you will arrive at the lower Esplanade, where there are no parking facilities.

    From the direction of Eisenach via the A 4 to Erfurter Kreuz, drive on to the A 71 and exit at Stadtilm between Arnstadt Süd and Ilmenau Ost. From there you can also drive via the B 90 and Rudolstadt-Schwarza to Bad Blankenburg. Alternatively, on the B 90 exit at Paulinzella-Rottenbach and drive directly to Bad Blankenburg via Paulinzella, Rottenbach.

    From direction Hermsdorfer Kreuz (Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Chemnitz), use the A 9 in the direction of Nürnberg/München to Triptis; use the B 281 via Neustadt/Orla, Pößneck, onto the B 85 past Saalfeld in the direction of Rudolstadt. Just before Schwarza turn left onto the B 88 towards Bad Blankenburg. In Schwarza, use the second exit on the roundabout to follow the B88 to Bad Blankenburg. In Bad Blankenburg, follow the main road B 88 through the town, but do not take the turn toward the centre! Follow the long bend in the road and then take a sharp right turn from the main road (signposted on a wall); then turn left again immediately; after about 50m, turn right onto the Esplanade and drive up the path until you reach the parking lot of the Allianzhaus.

    From direction Würzburg switch from the A 7 to the A 70 until Kreuz Werntal/Schweinfurt; from there drive onto the A71, Exit Stadtilm between Arnstadt Süd and Ilmenau Ost. From there you can also drive via the B 90 and Rudolstadt-Schwarza to Bad Blankenburg. Alternatively, on the B 90 exit at Paulinzella-Rottenbach and drive directly to Bad Blankenburg via Paulinzella, Rottenbach.
    In Bad Blankenburg, travel straight ahead until you reach the bend in the road, and turn left, then turn left again immediately; after about 50m, turn right onto the Esplanade and drive up the path until you reach the parking lot of the Allianzhaus.  

    From direction Nürnberg on the A 9 drive towards Berlin and take the exit at Dittersdorf, in the direction of Neustadt (Orla). In Neustadt, turn left onto the B 281 direction Saalfeld. In Saalfeld, switch to the B 85 direction Rudolstadt; just before Rudolstadt turn left at the first set of traffic lights towards Schwarza, and then keep left onto the B 88 direction Ilmenau/Bad Blankenburg; carry on as coming from the direction Hermsdorfer Kreuz (above).

    PS: Bad Blankenburg is closer than you think!

     

  • From Frankfurt am Main Airport:

    Firstly, you take the ICE 1651 from the long-distance railway station at the airport towards Dresden. You leave the train when it stops in Gotha. There, you take the RE1 towards Glauchau and exit at Neudeitendorf. Here you take the EB 23 towards Saalfeld and exit at Bad Blankenburg (Thüringer Wald). From this station, you walk for twelve minutes to the Allianzhaus. The journey should take about three hours and 32 minutes.

    From Nuremberg Airport:

    Firstly, you take the subway U2 towards Nürnberg Röthenbach to get to the main station in Nürnberg. From there, walk six minutes towards the part of the train station where the long-distance trains depart. Here, you take the ICE 508 towards Hamburg Altona. You leave the train in Erfurt, where you take the EB 23 towards Saalfeld, and exit at Bad Blankenburg (Thüringer Wald). From here you walk for twelve minutes to the Allianzhaus. The journey takes about two hours and 48 minutes.

    From Leipzig/Halle Airport:

    Take the S-Bahn S 5X towards Zwickau to get to the main station in Leipzig where you need to walk nine minutes to get to the long-distance train area. Here you take the ICE 599 towards Munich and exit at Erfurt. There you take the EB 23 towards Saalfeld to reach Bad Blankenburg (Thüringer Wald) train station. From there, walk for twelve minutes to get to the Allianzhaus. The journey should take about two hours and nine minutes.

    From Berlin Tegel Airport:

    Firstly, you take the bus TXL towards Memhardstrasse to the main station in Berlin where you need to walk six minutes to reach the long-distance train area. Here, you take the ICE 509 towards Munich. You head out at Erfurt main station and take the EB 23 towards Saalfeld to get to the train station in Bad Blankenburg (Thüringer Wald).  Once there, you walk for twelve minutes to get to the Allianzhaus. The journey should take about three hours and 35 minutes.

    (If you travel from the airport in Berlin Schoenefeld, you take the RE 7 towards Dessau to get to the main station in Berlin. From here, the journey is identical.)
